Debra Lawhun Baker, 68 years old, of Bellville, passed away on June 15, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Ashland, Kentucky, on September 19, 1955, to the late Marian J. (Bond) and Ardis Lawhun.

She graduated from Crestline High School in 1974 and received her Associate degree in 1986. She held several secretarial jobs, her most recent at the Health Department where she was the Administrative Commissioner for 17 ½ years.

Deb was known to many as MUMS or Momma and is survived by two sons, Chad J. (Tonya) Baker of Mansfield and Dustin (Morgan) Baker of Bellville; daughter-in-law April Smith; her grandchildren, Jeremy Tyler, Matthew, Shelby, Devon, Blake, Ashten, Ciara and Destiny; great grandchildren, Barrett and Wyatt; sisters, Bobbie (Mike) Baith of Columbus, OH and Romona Thompson of Louisa KY; brother, David Lawhun of Pensacola, FL; nephews and nieces and their children: Matt (Kristal) Baith of Tyler, TX (Ivan, Zoie, Hudson and Abigail), William J. Cutright of Grayson, KY (Bethani & Brandon), Shannon (Tige) Bateson of Westerville, OH (TJ/Tige Jr), Allan (Suhelen) Lawhun of Panama City, FL (Liam, Jane and Anne), Kara and Jimmy Barker of Virginia Beach, VA, Melissa Martinez of Lemoore, CA (Michael Jr., Matthew and Morgan), Jennifer (Johnny) Bedford of Pensacola, FL, (Avery and Jordan), Wesley Thompson of Louisa, KY, and Sarah Thompson of Louisa, KY (Caden, Chandler and Sydney); stepmother, Imagard Lawhun of Greenup, KY; special aunts Lois Prichard of Grayson, KY and Sonja Dean; and several cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy C. Baker; her parents; nephew, Justin; maternal grandparents, Harrison and Mona Bond; paternal grandparents, Leonard and Sarah Lawhun; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and her loving black lab, Peyton.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Wappner Funeral Directors – Ontario, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
