Elizabeth Ann “Ann” Miller-Pedersen, passed away on May 3, 2024, at the age of 74 in Lake Placid, Florida.

Ann was born on June 2, 1949, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late John and Jessie (Rader) Miller. She graduated from Lexington High School. In 1995, she married the love of her life, Roger Pedersen.

In the 1990s, Ann followed her true calling and returned to school to pursue a career as a registered nurse. After earning her nursing degree, she dedicated many years to providing compassionate care at healthcare facilities and as a home health aide in Shelby, Ohio, as well as Sebring and Lake Placid, Florida. Her kind heart, willingness to speak up for others, and genuine desire to help made her an exceptional nurse who touched the lives of countless patients and their families.

In 2000, Ann and Roger moved to the Sebring/Lake Placid, Florida, area to enjoy the sunshine and be close to Ann’s parents. Ann was an active member of South Oak Baptist Church, in Lake Placid, Florida, where she had a special place in her heart for missions. She was fortunate to be able to travel to serve a girls home in Africa sponsored by the church. Her warm smile and servant’s heart will be dearly missed.

Ann was a lifelong fan of Elvis. She was a member of a local Red Hat Society and Ladies of a Loss group, and enjoyed adventures, both at home and through travel. Her enthusiasm, sense of humor, and zest for life made her a joy to be around.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Roger, who passed in 2015, as well as her parents John and Jessie Miller. She is survived by sons, Jim (Andrea) Meador and Matthew Cassel; granddaughters, Olivia, Emma, Alana and Alyssa; grandson, Taran; sister, Linda (Fred) Cler; brother, John (Kathy) Miller; nieces, Kristen, Michelle, Karen; and nephews, Michael and Alan. She will also be missed by many friends who formed a second family for her in Florida.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A memorial service conducted by her cousin, the Rev. Robin Rader, will follow at 1:00 p.m.. A graveside service will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ann’s honor to South Oak Baptist Church, 119 E. Royal Palm St. Lake Placid, FL 33852.
