Morrigan Thompson has been selected to be apart of the American Poltergeist: The Curst of Lilith Ratchet movie.

MANSFIELD — Horror films have always had a grip on Morrigan Thompson.

The Mansfield resident considers herself a “horror film elitist,” and is known to enjoy a good scare. Most recently she was a part of the Blood Prison at The Ohio State Reformatory’s Ink in the Clink event.

That was just the beginning. Thompson was recently cast in the movie “American Poltergeist: The Curse of Lilith Ratchet,” which will be directed by Eddy Lengyel.

“I didn’t think I had a chance because I was so new,” she said of her audition. “When I got the email, I about passed out.”

The movie will be a nationwide release, she said, and is expected to be primarily shot in Cleveland.

Thompson couldn’t say much about the movie, but she will be playing Jamie, the sister of Bree who works as a promoter for a ghost hunt channel.

“It’s going to be awesome,” she added.

Thompson, an actor and model, said her recent stint as a haunt actor during the Ink in the Clink set her on the path to achieve her passions.

“I was asked to be a part of the Blood Prison. Through extra work I met a girl who sent me a link to the movie,” she said. “I sent them my audition tape.”

The audition tape she sent in was a conversation between Jamie and Bree.

“It was just idle teenage girl chit-chat,” she said. “I used my boyfriend’s iPhone to shoot it in his living room.”

The first American Poltergeist movie was released in 2015.
